Championship Leader Rettich Tops Pro Formula Enterprises Practice From Atlanta


Nov. 4, 2011 - BRASELTON, Ga. - Championship leader Scott Rettich and race winner in all eight of the SCCA Pro Racing Formula Enterprises races this season led the opening practice on Friday at Road Atlanta.

The Camden, Ohio resident jumped out of his Pro Spec Racer Ford machine and right into his No. 17 Alliance Autosport/Springboro Car Wash Formula Enterprises machine to lead the 20-minute practice with a time of 1:25.408 (107.062 mph).

Sitting second in the practice session is Patrick Gallagher, of Thornville, Ohio, who currently sits second in the championship hunt. Gallagher turned a fast time of 1:25.642 (106.770 mph) in the No. 00 Jay Motorsports/CTL Engineering Formula Enterprises, falling 0.234-second behind Rettich’s best lap.

Mark Eaton’s No. 92 RobinsonMotorsports.com Formula Enterprises was third in the session, also just off the pace with a lap of 1:25.745 (106.641 mph).

A third Ohio racer joined Rettich and Gallagher in the top five, with Solon, Ohio’s Jim Libecco fourth in the No. 98 Akron Skin Center Formula Enterprises machine. Libecco’s fast lap of 1:26.635 (105.546 mph) placed him ahead of Matt Schneider, of Lexington, Ky., who posted a lap of 1:26.845 (105.291 mph) in his No. 31 Jay Motorsports Formula Enterprises machine.

The Formula Enterprises field will return to action on Saturday afternoon for qualifying, followed by a pair of races on Sunday to end the season.
