Momentum Motorsports Adds Anthony Autiello to FR Americas Driver Lineup
March 25, 2024 – With the start of the 2024 FR Americas Championship just around the corner, Momentum Motorsports has inked 41-year-old Anthony Autiello to a partial campaign. Set to compete at NOLA Motorsports Park, the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the Circuit of the Americas, Autiello does not rule out a full-season campaign in his #07 Momentum Motorsports-prepared machine.
“People my age typically go into sports car racing, with open-wheel racing traditionally reserved for young aspiring drivers but I am looking to defy that trend,” explained the 41-year-old veteran. “I have had the opportunity to stand on the podium alongside some of the highest profile gentlemen drivers in the country, now is the time to challenge myself in one of single-seat racing’s premier feeder series.”
The Providence, Rhode Island native started his driving career racing Formula Continental 14 years ago and has raced everything from sports cars to prototypes. Autiello regularly races against competitors from such high-profile series and events as LeMans, Daytona, Sebring, SRO GT World Challenge, and Ferrari Challenge at the Monticello Motor Club Member Series.
“We are excited to have Anthony as part of the family and look forward to helping him achieve his goals in 2024,” explained Phil Picard. “He is not a 16-year-old looking to be the next professional racecar driver as his goals are dramatically different which allows us to approach the season differently. I like his approach to changing the path of the gentleman racer, and we will support him where we can.”
“Having worked with Phil and Momentum Motorsports in F-1000 and in the development of my Radical SR3 gives me the unique advantage of being in a team that I know and that knows me,” added Autiello.
First up for Anthony and Momentum Motorsports is a trip to NOLA Motorsports Park April 11-14.
